Green Card Renewal or Replacement: Form I-90

You must have previously been issued a valid Green Card that has expired, or will expire within the next 6 months.

You must have previously been issued a valid Green Card that has been lost, damaged or stolen.

This is how you apply to renew your Green Card or replace a damaged, stolen or lost Green Card:

  • First, carefully complete Form I-90. Incorrect or missing information can cause a delay or denial of your request. After you have completed and signed Form I-90, send it to the correct USCIS Service Center, with the necessary supporting documents and the filing fee.
  • When USCIS receives your application, you will get a Receipt Notice and Receipt Number. Use your Receipt Number to monitor the status of your case.
  • If USCIS determines that you qualify for renewal or are requesting a replacement for a valid reason, you will receive a new Green Card in the mail.
